Evolve and Elevate: Commitment and achievement, Test of a Yogi, something for someone lacking hope to believe in life again.
Idea of the Week
Commitment and achievement
“No one ever achieved a goal by being interested in its achievement. One must be committed. In fact, in studying the source of people’s success, I’ve found that persistence overshadows even talent as the most valued and effective resource in creating and shaping the quality of life. Most people give up a maddening five feet from their goal!” ~ Anthony Robbins
Lesson of the Week
Test of a Yogi
Bhagavad Gita says:

The test of a Yogi, Bhakt or a self-realized soul is that he is able to control his senses as per his plan but majority of people are slaves of their senses and they go according to their senses.
The comparison of senses has been done with those poisonous snakes. They want to function with complete freedom and without any control.
A Yogi or a Bhakt has to be strong like a snake charmer to control these serpents.
He never gives freedom to them to dance as and when they like.
In the scriptures, there are countless commandments out of which some are do’s and some are don’ts. Unless one is able to follow these do’s and don’ts and restrict oneself from sense enjoyment, it is not possible to be firmly fixed in Krishna consciousness.
The best example herein is that of tortoise.
The tortoise can at any moment wind up his body parts and exhibit them again at any time for a particular purpose.
Similarly, the person who is fixed in Krishna consciousness uses his senses for God’s high services. Otherwise, they are withdrawn and controlled.
Keeping the senses always in the services of the Lord is the example set by the analogy of the tortoise who keep the senses within.
Inspiration of the Week:
Something for someone lacking hope to believe in life again.

Life serves you with what your soul has offered it in its lifetime.
By that I mean, your body experiences the life your soul has created for itself ever since it existed.
We lose hope or we blame life only because we think, we act, and we interact with life from a place of unawareness which means we assume that anything bad that happens to us is a life’s wrong move.
For a moment imagine you are sitting for a competitive exam for which you haven’t prepared as much as others have. When the exam results are out, you find out you did not qualify.
Now here in this failure, you do not blame the examiner, you do not curse other students, instead, you feel regret for not putting in the right amount of effort for the exam, so you declare yourself responsible for the failure.
And you start motivating yourself to prepare better for the next time.
Your mind is at peace because you know the real reason behind the failure.
This is because you are aware, so even the failure did not put you down.
This applies in every scenario.
When you know the reason, have clarity and have awareness about why the problem exists and have the right way to work on it and overcome it, you do not lose hope or feel disturbed by it.
When you know the reason behind the issue and the roadmap to solve it, no problem in life can haunt you.
Now, when it comes to life’s problems, we all lack a huge awareness of how life functions.
We get trapped in bad chapters and we start the blame game. We keep looking for a target to hold responsible for the mess that we get into.
But the truth is, our life is the result of our soul Karmas just like the exam failure was an outcome of your bad preparation.
Our souls have performed Karmas in many lives and now the life that we are currently living is designed based on those Karmas.
So, when life gives you lemons, remember your soul has planted them.
But you still have the big chance to cut those lemons, add some new sugar like Karmas in this current life and make a great lemonade with it.
This journey of life can never feel bad or bitter if we start holding ourselves responsible for all that happens to us and directing our attention to the new positive Karmas.
You are served with a bad dish in this life never means you cannot go and cook a great one for yourself.
Stop looking at what bad stuff you got, stand up and start looking at what good you can make.
Life will make a turn, a big miraculous turn once you turn your back to everything that pulls you back and drags you down.
