Baba Ram Dass explains beautifully the most important and toughest lesson we need to learn about people.

“When you go out into the woods, and you look at trees, you see all these different trees.

And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever.

And you look at the tree and you allow it.

You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree.

The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying ‘You are too this, or I’m too this.’ That judgment mind comes in. And so, I practice turning people into trees. Which means appreciating them just the way they are.”

This gives a very fine understanding of the big truth that we all might belong to the same species but we don’t have the same genetics.

Karmas make us all different.

We come from different levels so none of us are the same.

The idea is not to sit under the toxic trees but to just find better and healthier trees that you feel comfortable sitting under without cutting the toxic ones.

Our bodies are the same but our souls are at different energy levels. We function differently because we all come from different stages of karma.

So, it is important to not look at people at the level of bodies but try to understand the souls so that we can understand the differences amongst all of us.
